Physical Education & Health

Grades Pre-K through 8

  1. Uses a variety of basic and advanced movement forms
  2. Uses movement concepts and principles of motor skills
  3. Understands how to monitor and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness
  4. Understands the social and personal responsibility associated with participation in physical activity
  5. Understands an appreciation for activities that could be enjoyed throughout one’s life

  • Personal & mental wellness (self-concept & self-esteem)
  • Physical fitness and nutrition
  • Movement exploration
  • Game related activities
  • Individual /dual/team sports/skills
  • Lifetime activities
  • Safety/first aid
  • Basic growth and development

In addition to the above curriculum, grades 6, and 7 participate in:

  • Nutrition
  • Violence prevention & conflict resolution
  • Stress management
  • Personal Health Concerns (Heredity and Growth Patterns)

  • Family Life
  • Adolescence and Puberty
  • Abstinence
